I Will Cast My Cares

This week I have found great encouragement in my husband's beautiful song, "I Will Cast My Cares" from In A Little While, as I have been tired and had a headache. I have memories of hearing him write this song in our living room and now am reminded of the truth in I Peter 5:7, "Casting all your cares on Him, because He cares for you," as I hear the finished product.

Jesus, I'm frail, I'm so very weak
My faithfulness fails, my courage will flee
But You are my rock, my shelter and shade
When I'm burdened down, You'll carry the weight

So I will cast my cares on You
Yes, I will cast my cares on You
I will rest within Your arms
Knowing I am safe from harm
I will cast my cares on You

When I'm overwhelmed and I cannot stand
You hear every cry and You lift my head
I'm desperate for grace and mercy anew
I must have Your strength, Oh I must have You

Thank you so much for sharing this. We are going through a difficult time as a family, and this song really ministered to me. Lam. 3:21-24 has also been a great encouragement. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I will hope in him.'"

I love this song...I bought the cd a week or two ago and have listened to it like 600 times.
I miss you, Jen. I wish I had one more hour to spend time in your living room fellowshipping. You are such a dear friend.
Keep praying. And kiss Charis for me!

Violet,
That passage in Lamentations has brought much encouragement to me as well. It is one that I need to have stored in my heart to remind myself of God's promises. Thank you for reminding me of it.

Diana,
I too cherish the time we had together. Good memories from the living room chats. You are an example of Christ's humility to me. I am praying. Charis sends her love, too.

Jen,

I'm so sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. One thing I appreciate about you is you are consistently joyful and cheerful, even when you don't feel well. What a testimony to God's work in your life. What glory you bring to Jesus through your joyfulness.

Mark
