Bright Orange Mush

Welp, now that Charis has hit the six month mark, they tell me it's time to start feeding her "real" food. Her docter suggested we go from stage one, to two and then to fries off the table. Was she kidding? She made it sound so quick.

As I surveyed the list of foods we could start on, of course sweet potatoes jumped right out at me. Who wouldn't dive into something that had the word "sweet" in it? At least, that is what I thought until I smelled them. After the first bite, Charis looked at me like, "Mom, are you nutso! What are you tryin' to pull here?" After a couple minutes, she warmed up to the idea of eating the bright orange mush. I wouldn't say she enjoyed it like she does rice cereal. Now that is good stuff.

Charis' thoughts on sweet potatoes

This is the smile of a little baby with a full tummy. This is the sweet face that I have to joy of seeing each morning, evening and everywhere inbetween. She is cheerful.

Charis is the cutest, smartest baby I've ever seen in my life. She did get Stephen's nose, though.
